In a serious warning about what he calls an ‘unholy alliance’, prominent pastor, Bible teacher, public speaker and Christian author Dr. Michael Youssef has been heard around the world exposing a coalition between radical Islamists and the progressive Left that is reshaping the western world.
He has recently been in Australia promoting his latest book titled: Unholy Alliance: How Progressivism Brought About An Islamist Invasion.
It focuses on how, despite being ideologically opposed, these extremists are united in undermining Judeo-Christian values, freedom, and social cohesion.
“Both the Labor governments in Australia and England seem to be really oblivious to the facts, or they deliberately choose to ignore them,” he observed.
WHO IS DR. MICHAEL YOUSSEF?
Dr. Youssef knows Australia well, having arrived here in 1969 after fleeing Muslim-majority Egypt where he was raised as a Coptic Christian, after the 1967 Six-Day-War with Israel.
He graduated as an Anglican minister from Sydney’s Moore College before serving as a minister in the Illawarra.
He was a young man in a hurry and soon after left for the US, becoming an American citizen and founding the Church of the Apostles megachurch in Atlanta.
His global ministry is called Leading the Way.
DR. YOUSSEF’S WARNINGS IGNORED FOR HALF A CENTURY
Dr. Youssef ‘s new book draws attention to the wave of extremism sweeping through universities, through the media, through politics, and even the church.
In an interview with Vision Radio’s 20Twenty program, he revealed that the powers-that-be have repeatedly ignored his warnings about this unholy alliance for half a century.
“I have talked to leaders here when I was living here about the importance of bringing persecuted Christians and not Islamist ideologues into Australia.”
“Would you believe I said this 55 years ago, but nobody listened.”
WORLD LEADERS STILL REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS UNHOLY ALLIANCE
“I said the same thing in Reagan White House in the 80s, noone listened. I said the same thing at Westminster with the parliamentarians in my audience, and they snickered and never listened.”
“My first book was in 1982, where I sounded the alarm. Unfortunately, everybody pushed the snooze button.”
“They went back to sleep, even after September 11. And the same thing is happening here, I’m sure, after the Bondi debacle.”
“The saddest part is everything I said back then is coming to pass today, exactly as I read from the radical Islamists’ strategy is going to happen.”
“MOST MUSLIMS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM”
“I make a very important distinction in my book between Muslims and Islamists.”
“I have sat with Muslim heads of states in the Middle East and they would say to me, explain to us how come we outlaw the Muslim Brotherhood from our countries? And then they go to England, Australia and America and they give them a red carpet treatment and give them a satellite channel from which they can attack Arabic governments who are not Islamist.”
“I have known many Muslim leaders who absolutely have no time for the Islamist or political Islam, as they would call it, more than in the West.”
“So this is not about the Muslim people. it’s about the 20% of Muslims who identify themselves as jihadis, Islamists, who literally want to impose Sharia and Caliphate upon the world.”
DR. YOUSSEF’S EXPLANATION OF ‘JIHAD’
“Jihad in their lexicon has many forms.”
“The extreme of terroristic killing and self-destruction in the process so they can go to paradise and so forth, this is the extreme.”
“But jihad definition is, inviting a person to come to Islam and if he doesn’t accept, try to persuade him. If he doesn’t accept again, try to force him.”
“As long as you’re a minority and have no say or authority, you play it safe and you do it verbally.”
“But once you get the opportunity to be in control, then you enforce jihad by force.”
AN EXAMPLE OF NON-VIOLENT ‘JIHAD’
“It takes a variety of forms. Running candidates for mayor, for city council, for school boards, for the state’s congress or your house of representatives and state government and begin to infiltrate the culture that way.”
For example, in Dearborn, Michigan, the mayor and the city council are all Islamists. “
“And when a Christian man stood there and said: This is a Christian country, you can’t do that here, the mayor ordered him to get out of my town, this is a Muslim city.”
“WE NEED LEADERS OF COURAGE AND WISDOM WHO STAND FOR TRUTH”
“We need wise leaders. Unfortunately, as I look at the landscape around the Western world today, we don’t have wise leaders.”
“We have opportunists. We have ideologues. We have people who basically will do whatever it takes to stay in power, even if it is at the detriment of the very constituencies that have elected them.”
“We need people of courage, we need people with wisdom, and we need people who stand for the truth.”
